There are a number of treatment procedures now available that can be performed without surgery by using X-ray imaging and various types of devices that do not require surgery.  These devices are introduced through a small puncture in the skin.

Some of these procedures include: 

• Embolizing of fibroids of the uterus for problems with bleeding or pain
• Injection of vertebral fractures to help stop pain
• Angioplasty of  blocked arteries to improve blood flow
• Biopsy of tumors
• Placement of devices for delivery of drugs or chemotherapy
